In 2005 when i came back to the island of singapore after staying away for 5 years. i was at a loss of what i do for a living as my past activities was with the sunset industry of shoe making which no longer strives in this city. i was experimenting with various imported products. Then, a florist friend suggested glasswares to me, as she would want more variety than what were already available in the market...like from ikea, lim's, isetan, tangs etc... I had never like to deal with food products as it have shelf life... But Glasswares;- although it does not have that timeframe, it scares me as they are easily breakable, and need tender care in handling... Just look at those "fragile" labels sticked on to luggages...and it shows a glass symbol. Only by 2007 that i brought in my first shipment after much tossing about,- cos it was a challenge to self to overcome the fear factor of opening up crates of broken glasses. There were no breakage in that first shipment after all measures in place were taken. From then, i never look back to share with my friends about that beauty and contour of glass vases and vessels which i collected over these short span of years. Importantly, they have another choice of glasswares from me!! and at a economical price!
Pan chong lai is a chinese romanised name that philosophied my thought at this stage of life. Pan is "Hoping"; Chong Lai is similar to "coming again or a second try". So, basically, i hope these blogs and doing of mine will reflects a renewed desire to do things right and differently from the first life...
